This dead tree looks like a whale

Today I had to move our SVN repositories to a new server, because the old one (an Xserve G5) is being emptied and then either sold or thrown away. So if you're interested in an early 2005 Xserve G5, send me a note. Anyway, relocating a repository was easier than I thought. A bit of reading and googling revealed the steps I had to take and to help you, I wrote them all down, sort of collected steps-to-take, and posted them on this page.

I have put a huge list with phrases in three languages (French, English and Dutch) online. These short phrases are very handy in learning the other language. I found this list someday on the internet (do not remember where) and added Dutch to it. Mind you, the Dutch translation is done by a computer and is far from correct. But I am working on it, when I find the time.

Ik heb een enorme lijst met zinsneden in drie talen online gezet (Frans, Engels, Nederlands). Deze korte zinnen zijn erg handig bij het leren van de andere taal. Ik heb de lijst met Franse en Engelse zinnen eens op het internet gevonden en de Nederlandse vertaling er aan toegevoegd. Let wel, de Nederlands vertaling is door een computer gedaan en verre van correct. Maar ik werk er aan, als ik de tijd vind.

J'ai mis une liste énorme avec phrases en trois langues (français, anglais et néerlandais) en ligne. Les courtes phrases sont très pratique dans l'apprentissage de l'autre langue. J'ai trouvé cette liste un jour sur l'internet (ne me rappelle pas où) et ajouté néerlandais à elle. Mais attention, la traduction néerlandaise est fait par un ordinateur et est loin de corriger. Mais je suis à y travailler, lorsque j'ai trouver le temps.

For a long time I collected crown caps of various beer brands. This collection was gathering dust and I could either throw them all away or do something with them and then throw them away. Digitizing them was the only non-dust catching solution. At first I wanted to make a page for every brand, but hey, a hobby should not become a manic 'have-to-do'-thing. So, nice and simple: 5 pages with crown caps, nicely mixed up. Here are some previews, the actual images are on this page.

Ich war wieder mal in Deutschland und habe mir dann mal ein Paket Weine zusammenstellen lassen, die ich sehr empfehlen kann! Ich habe die Etiketten wieder abgeweicht und eingescannt.

En nog maar eens een science-fiction pocket. Nu een verzamelbundel van korte verhalen. Erg leuk om te lezen.

Nog eens een exemplaar van een oude Katholieke Illustratie uit 1940. Ik vind het echt een leuk blad - enkel het godsdienstgedoe spreekt me niet aan.
Voor grafici is dit blad echt leuk, gezien de verscheidenheid aan advertenties en hoe deze er destijds uitzagen. De .zip is prima en heel goed te lezen met SimpleComic of een andere Comicbook-reader.
Het papieren exemplaar gaat binnenkort naar de H.A.N.D., tenzij iemand anders het graag wil hebben. Mail me dan.

Here you will find two scripts for use with Panic's Coda, which take selected text and encode it to BASE64 or decode it from BASE64, inside the current editor (base64coda).
To add the scripts to Coda's scripts-menu, click the menu and select 'Open Enclosing Folder':

Drag the scripts in the opened folder, go back to Coda and select 'Reload Scripts' from the scripts-menu. You should see the two new scripts:


Now, select some text and choose BASE64 Encode and then BASE64 Decode to see your text again.
